Deliciously Simple Maple Glazed Apple Blondies

Golden, gooey blondies infused with warm apple goodness and topped with a sweet maple glaze.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 large apples (chopped finely)
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by greasing it with butter or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl and set aside.
  4. Cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and dark brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  6. Combine the dry mixture with the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chopped apples evenly into the batter.
  8. Prepare the apple topping by sautéing chopped apples with butter and brown sugar for 3-5 minutes.
  9. Pour the blondie batter into the baking dish and add the sautéed apples on top.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Make the maple glaze by whisking together maple syrup, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.
  12. Drizzle the glaze over the blondies after they have cooled for 10 minutes.

Notes

Slice into generous squares and serve warm or at room temperature. Great with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
