The Best Mango Salsa Recipe

A vibrant and fresh mango salsa that combines juicy mangos, crisp veggies, and a hint of citrus for a delicious tropical treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe mangos (peeled and diced)
  • 1 onion or shallot (finely chopped)
  • 1 jalapeño pepper (finely chopped)
  • ½ bell pepper (chopped)
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 lime (juiced, about 2 ½ teaspoons of juice)
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt or pink salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prep your mangos: Slice your ripe mangos by first cutting down along the pit on either side to create two “cheeks.” Then, scoop out the flesh with a spoon, dice into small cubes and add to a mixing bowl.
  2. Chop the veggies: Finely chop the red onion or shallot and toss it into the bowl with the mango.
  3. Add the heat: Finely chop your jalapeño pepper and toss it in. Remember, you can always add more spice if you like it hot!
  4. In goes the bell pepper: Chop your bell pepper and add to the mix.
  5. Toss in the freshly chopped cilantro and minced garlic.
  6. Drizzle in the olive oil and freshly squeezed lime juice.
  7. Sprinkle the sea salt and black pepper over the salsa and give everything a good stir.
  8. Chill and serve: Let the salsa sit in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes for maximum flavor.

Notes

Serve with grilled fish or chicken, tortilla chips, or tacos. Salsa can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
