Creamy Beef Pasta

A warm and comforting creamy beef pasta dish, perfect for busy weeknights or cozy weekend dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to the package directions until it’s al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water, drain the rest, and set aside.
  2. Sauté the aromatics: In a large skillet over medium heat, drizzle in the olive oil. Toss in the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3–4 minutes until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
  3. Brown the beef: Add the lean ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until it’s no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Create the creamy sauce: Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream. Stir in the Italian seasoning and let the sauce simmer for about 3-5 minutes until thickened. Adjust consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
  5. Mix it all together: Add the cooked pasta to the creamy beef mixture. Toss with the grated Parmesan cheese until well-combined.
  6. Final taste test: Adjust the flavors with more salt, pepper, or cheese as desired.

Notes

For a veggie boost, sauté some bell peppers or spinach along with the onions. This recipe is great for meal prep; store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
