Creamy Mushroom Pasta

A luxurious and comforting pasta dish made with sautéed mushrooms, creamy sauce, and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pasta of your choice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté the onion: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 5-7 minutes, until translucent.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms: Cook for another 5-6 minutes until golden and tender.
  4. Toss in the minced garlic, stirring for about a minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and sprinkle in the Parmesan cheese. Stir until combined and cheese melts; add reserved pasta water if too thick.
  6. Combine the drained pasta with the sauce, tossing gently to coat.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan before serving.

Notes

For variations, consider adding spinach, grilled chicken, or red pepper flakes for extra flavor!
