Baked Chicken Parmesan

A twist on a classic favorite, this Baked Chicken Parmesan is crispy, cheesy, and comforting, making it a delightful weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare a baking pan with parchment paper.
  3. Set up your breading station with three shallow bowls.
  4. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  5. Bread the chicken by dipping it into the egg mixture and coating it with breadcrumbs.
  6. Bake the chicken for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Add marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella on top of the chicken.
  8. Return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Serve with whole wheat pasta or salad. Great with olive oil and balsamic reduction.
