Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches

A comforting and easy-to-make crockpot French dip sandwich filled with tender beef and gooey cheese, served with a rich dipping broth.

  • 23 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 810 slices of provolone cheese
  • 46 French rolls
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the roast by patting it dry with paper towels and sprinkling both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the meat (optional) in a skillet over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  3. Prep the crockpot by adding the French onion soup mix and beef broth.
  4. Add the seasoned roast to the crockpot, ensuring it’s fully submerged in the broth.
  5. Set the crockpot to low and cook for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
  6. Prepare the rolls by preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C) and slicing them in half.
  7. Melt the cheese on the sliced rolls in the oven for 3-5 minutes once the roast is tender.
  8. Serve the sandwiches with the dipping broth and enjoy!
