Halloween Chocolate Velvet Cookies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Halloween M&Ms
  • 1/2 cup chocolate sprinkles
  • Candy eyeballs for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together for about 2 minutes until fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time and mix in the vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients gradually, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in 3/4 cup of M&Ms and half of the chocolate sprinkles into the dough.
  7. Scoop dollops of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between cookies.
  8. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, until edges are firm and centers are still soft.
  9. Transfer to a wire rack after 5 minutes of cooling and decorate with candy eyeballs.

Notes

For added flavor, you can incorporate nuts or pumpkin spice. Leftover dough can be frozen for up to a month.
