Korean Ground Beef Bowl

A flavorful Korean Ground Beef Bowl that is high in protein, quick to make, and deliciously satisfying, served over rice and garnished with green onions.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cooked rice for serving
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the minced garlic in sesame oil for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Brown the ground beef, breaking it up and cooking for 5 to 7 minutes until nicely browned.
  4. Mix in the soy sauce and brown sugar, stirring until combined and simmering for a few minutes.
  5. Add red pepper flakes if using, and taste for seasoning.
  6. Prepare the rice as directed, making sure it’s fluffy and ready.
  7. Plate by serving rice in bowls and topping with the beef mixture and green onions.

Notes

Serve with kimchi or steamed veggies for extra flavor. A fried egg on top adds richness.
