Juicy Nectarine Crumb Tart

A delightful and easy-to-make dessert that combines juicy nectarines with a crumbly topping, perfect for any occasion.

  • 4 ripe nectarines, sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup oats
  • Vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the nectarines by slicing them and tossing in a bowl with a tablespoon of sugar and a pinch of cinnamon.
  3. Make the crust by creaming together the softened butter and both sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the flour, salt, and oats gradually to the butter-sugar blend until crumbly.
  5. Assemble the tart by pressing the crumb mixture into a tart pan, baking it for approximately 10 minutes.
  6. Layer the sliced nectarines evenly on top of the partially baked crust.
  7. Top with the reserved crumb mixture.
  8. Bake for another 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use a gluten-free 1:1 baking flour and certified gluten-free oats. You can also substitute peaches if nectarines are out of season.
