Festive 4th of July Chex Mix

A colorful and crunchy Chex Mix perfect for celebrating Independence Day with friends and family.

  • 3 cups Chex cereal
  • 2 cups popcorn, popped
  • 1 cup pretzels
  • 1 cup red, white, and blue chocolate candies
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn: Prepare it first and set it aside in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Preheat the oven: Set it to 250°F (120°C).
  3. Melt the butter: Combine with sugar, corn syrup, and salt over low heat until smooth.
  4. Add the vanilla: Stir in after removing the saucepan from heat.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients: Add Chex cereal and pretzels to the popcorn, folding gently.
  6. Drizzle the melted mixture over the mix until thoroughly coated.
  7. Spread and bake: Transfer to a lined baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
  8. Add the sweets: Sprinkle in the chocolate candies after cooling.
  9. Store and enjoy: Transfer to an airtight container for freshness.
