Crazy Good Casserole

A delightful casserole bringing together chicken, cheese, and egg noodles, perfect for busy weekdays or a cozy family dinner.

  • 3 cups cooked chicken (shredded, about 2 large chicken breasts)
  • 2 cups egg noodles (uncooked)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz / 300 g) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • ½ cup cooked and crumbled bacon (about 6 slices)
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the egg noodles in boiling water according to package instructions until al dente, about 6-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. Shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Mix the cooked chicken, cooked egg noodles, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Add the remaining ½ cup of cheddar cheese over the top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onion before serving.

Notes

Feel free to customize with additional vegetables or different cheeses for a personal touch. This casserole can also be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
