Limoncello Tiramisu

A refreshing twist on a classic Italian tiramisu featuring zesty lemon flavor and velvety mascarpone.

Ingredients

  • 30 savoiardi biscuits (ladyfinger biscuits)
  • 1 large organic lemon (zest and juice)
  • 23 squares grated white chocolate for garnish
  • 17.5oz / 500g mascarpone cheese (preferably at room temperature)
  • 4 organic eggs
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons limoncello
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ⅓ cup limoncello plus 2 tablespoons (for soaking)
  • ¾ cup milk of choice
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar (for milk mixture)

Instructions

  1. Zest and squeeze the lemon, setting zest and juice aside.
  2. Combine mascarpone cheese and powdered sugar in a bowl and mix until smooth.
  3. Separate the eggs, beating yolks with sugar until pale, while whisking egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  4. Mix limoncello, lemon juice, and milk with powdered sugar to create the soaking liquid.
  5. Dip savoiardi in the soaking liquid and layer them in a dish, covering with mascarpone mixture.
  6. Chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours.
  7. Grate white chocolate on top before serving for garnish.

Notes

Use organic lemons for the best flavor. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute limoncello with lemon syrup.
