Strawberry Pretzel Jello Salad

A delightful and nostalgic dessert featuring a crunchy pretzel crust, creamy filling, and a refreshing strawberry topping.

  • 2 1/2 cups pretzels (coarsely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 16 ounces Tru Whip or Cool Whip
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 6 ounces instant strawberry Jello
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 quart strawberries (hulled and sliced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the coarsely chopped pretzels, sugar, and melted butter until everything is well coated.
  3. Spread the pretzel mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Press it down firmly.
  4. Bake the pretzel crust for 10 minutes, then remove it from the oven and let it cool completely.
  5. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar together until fluffy and smooth.
  6. Fold in your Cool Whip until well combined.
  7. Spread the cream cheese layer over the cooled pretzel crust.
  8. In another bowl, dissolve the strawberry Jello in 2 cups of boiling water. Stir well until completely dissolved.
  9. Add the hulled and sliced strawberries to the prepared Jello mixture. Stir gently to combine.
  10. Pour the Jello and strawberry mixture over the cream cheese layer. Gently spread it out to ensure even coverage.
  11. Refrigerate for at least 240 minutes or overnight for best results.

Notes

Garnish with extra fresh strawberries or a dollop of Cool Whip when serving.
