Cheeseburger Pasta Casserole

A hearty dish combining cheeseburgers and pasta into a warm, comforting casserole.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb short pasta (like elbow macaroni or shells)
  • 1 lb lean ground beef (85/15 or 90/10)
  • 1 medium yellow onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 15 oz canned diced tomatoes (undrained)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the pasta in boiling salted water for 7-9 minutes until al dente.
  3. Sauté the diced onion in a skillet over medium heat until golden, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  5. Brown the ground beef in the skillet for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Combine tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, cooked pasta, and seasonings; heat for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Mix in 2 cups of cheddar cheese and milk until melted.
  8. Pour into a greased 9×13 baking dish and top with remaining cheddar.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Garnish with chives or parsley for added color. Can serve with a salad or garlic bread.
