Cheesy Hamburger Potato Casserole

A comforting, cheesy casserole featuring layers of potatoes, ground beef, and cheddar cheese, perfect for busy weeknights or gatherings.

  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the beef in a large skillet over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, then add diced onion and sauté until soft.
  3. Mix cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in a large bowl, then fold in the beef mixture.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, followed by half of the meat mixture and a layer of shredded cheese. Repeat the layers.
  5. Bake covered with foil for 45 minutes, then uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until tender and golden.

Notes

Let the casserole sit for 10 minutes before serving for better set. Garnish with parsley or chives. Can add vegetables or change up the cheese for variations.
