Savory Steak Grain Bowl

A hearty and protein-packed grain bowl featuring juicy steak, farro, and roasted vegetables.

Ingredients

  • Steak (flank or sirloin)
  • 1 cup Farro
  • Bell peppers, zucchini, and red onions (for roasting)
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or cilantro) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the Farro: Rinse farro under cold water, then combine with water and salt. Boil, then simmer for 25–30 minutes. Drain excess water.
  2. Prep the Vegetables: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Chop vegetables, spread on a baking sheet, and drizzle with oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Roasting Time: Roast vegetables for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  4. Cook the Steak: Heat skillet over medium-high. Season steak and add to the hot pan with oil.
  5. Sear the Steak: Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Let rest before slicing.
  6. Assemble the Bowl: Layer farro, roasted vegetables, and sliced steak in a bowl. Garnish with herbs.
  7. Drizzle and Enjoy: Add olive oil or balsamic reduction if desired, then serve.

Notes

Leftover steak can be used. Cooked farro may become mushy if overcooked. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
